THE ANGEL FALLS

ANGEL FALLS
(the tallest water falls in the world)

Location: VENEZUELA
ANGEL FALLS
(the tallest water falls in the world)
Description:

Angel Falls the tallest water falls in the world was discovered by an American pilot-adventurer who saw for the first time during his travel to Venezuela's Guiana Highlands in search of gold. Angel Falls is located in the far flung jungle of Venezuela at the complicated place where sometimes it becomes difficult to get at there. This water fall has got marvelous natural beauty. Water is falling over a reddish white sandstone escarpment, the white water falling from the top goes downward and dissolves in a in a frenzy of spray in a dark green jungle setting. The water first falls steeply in a single unbroken cascade of 2648 feet (807 meters), hits an obstruction and then moves at the greater speed for another 564 feet (172 meters). The height of the falls is so great that water flowing from the top buffets and converted into tiny droplets like water spray. There is a plateau namely Auyan Tepui ("Devil's Mountain") which is covered by droplets of water falling on it. From the top of the fall upto the foot of the gorge the water falls steeply for a distance equal to nearly 20 times the height of Canadian Niagara Falls.
